PFF - Gathering flowers for Mom

Well, with the theme being mother's day (Happy Mother's Day Moms!!!) I figured that this sweet little thing would be perfect. It looks like she is taking great care in choosing her flowers for the bouquet in her hand - and who would love it more than mom? :) Happy PFF!

Roses - PFF

Beth has some gorgeous roses up for show today, as well as a bit about, um, going a-mothering. I had never even heard of this till now - we have Mother's Day, in May. And here, it seems more a day to sell cards than to see our moms. Ah well.
I figured I would go with the roses, since I don't have mother's day cards (and I doubt I would find any - holiday of any sort cards are hard to find!). I went through my cards, and said, where are all my roses? I LOVE roses! Why do I have a million crocus cards and no roses? Well, I finally found one, with one of my give-away fairies. I really did think I had rose cards - otherwise I would have looked here earlier. :D

PFF - Angels abound

Here is a fancied up version of the cupids in "Adonis led by Cupids to Venus" by Francesco Albani. It is just a detail, so I figured I would try to find the full version. It was harder than you would think, everybody likes the cupids. But here it is, thanks to http://www.all-art.org/. If I want more info on an artist, or a piece of art, I will return!

Letting the cat out of the bag - PFF

I'm going to let the cat out of the bag, share a secret: Be my valentine? Well, ok, not really because my sweety is already and always my valentine, and we don't really celebrate, but I thought it would be cute to share this with you. :) Anyways, I hope you enjoy this card, it's sparkly and a pain to scan - it kept trying to spin. Dreams - PFF

Well, we talk about sleeping, and what do people do when they sleep? They dream. :) And in this Anne Taintor postcard, she dreams of storage space. As do I. Not that I don't have enough (mostly), but there is sooo much misused space in this house that we could gain a considerable amount turning dead space into storage. And then I wouldn't need to see it in my basement. :) How about you?

pff - when cats grow horns

When pigs fly is a whimsical way to say never, or at least not very likely. According to Marie, 'When cats grow horns' is the Malay version of flying pigs. Well, I don't have any flying pigs, I do have a cat with horns. Well, chess pawns, but let's not get technical here! From my give-a-way cards Stuff on my Cat. :)

PFF - Eggs :D

Maybe these are from the eggs French Factrice dropped? A cute card that I received blank from an old pen pal "Why do you keep egging me on? Hope I don't have to egg you on to write to me!" I'm not the biggest fan of these kind of cards, but they are cute to look at.

Alrighty, this one got me to do some research. I don't really have any cards that are British, or queen-y, or anything like that. So I started to think about what I did have. And what I have are Sandman cards, and Sandman is the creation of Neil Gaiman.

Neil Gaiman was born in Portchester, England, and spent most of his childhood in West Sussex. He wrote Good Omens with Terry Pratchett (good book). He started doing graphic novels with Marvel, then DC. Sandman was published with DC. I have read his novels Neverwhere, American Gods, and Anansi Boys (and enjoyed them all). Now, this isn't Sandman/Dream. This is his sister, Death. And in this image, from A Death Gallery, she has angel wings. Can you figure why I like her? :D She was created by Dave McKean (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Mckean) an artist from Berkshire (it all ties together so nicely!).

PFF - Joyeux Noel!

Since I know French... :) This card is one from my collection - I received it blank, and since I don't keep them, I pass them along to others that will enjoy it as much as I do. :) So here is one that I think is nice and Christmassy for you all to enjoy. :) I don't think that I still have this one, but I have more angels! :)

PFF - Writer's Block

Since I haven't been nagging my husband to scan my cards, and I haven't bothered to go over there (it's a whole maybe 4' away!!), these are giving me a way to show off some new cards. Even if they aren't mine. Like this one - it's my son, N's. You get some of the cutest cards when you tell people you are learning the alphabet in your profile (yes, both my boys postcross - and not as often as either would like to - they LOVE getting cards! Stamps are sooo pricey :( ). Anyways, enjoy!!
